This Japanese amp was released in 1990 and surprised the Hi-Fi press at the time with its no frills, high quality, audiophile standard, sonic capabilities. It garnered numerous awards and rave reviews and was often compared against £1000 amps, even though it retailed for a mere £240. It has since gathered a cult following and received much hype, nonetheless this is still a very good buy fro those looking for a solid and affordable stereo integrated amp. It also features a very reasonable MM/MC phono stage, for those with turntables.
A later A400X was released, however it is universally deemed not quite as good as the original A400, and almost certainly suffered at the hand of some cost cutting.
