In 1977 J.A. Michell Engineering Ltd. released their first true turntable, the Michell Reference Electronic, with a marble or coloured mirrored acrylic plinth. This was followed by an upmarket Prisma version in transparent acrylic, synonymous with later Michell decks. This example here, oddly sits in between these two models. Its labelled as a Prisma, has a solid platter, but has a marble plinth. Either way, this is one rare deck, pinpointing a historic time in J.A. Michell’s past.
As with any Michell turntable, you can be assured of top quality performance and sound quality. This example is great condition and has recently been serviced. Bid carefully, who knows what this collectors item could go for.
